I am a TF-CBT trained Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor. As a graduate of the Masters of Education in Counseling program at The University of North Texas, I have over 11 years of experience in the field of counseling.
I have worked with an array of clients including those in residential and intensive outpatient programs, those dealing with substance abuse and children who have experienced abuse and sexual trauma.
My personal interests include all things music, reading, travel, family outings, and cheering on my son whether he is dancing, playing baseball or chess!
My journey started over 15 years ago while completing my undergraduate degree. I worked at a residential treatment center for children. It was during this time I made the decision to enter the counseling field. Seeing firsthand the difference counseling can make inspired me. Since that time, I have been devoted to becoming more knowledgeable and striving to be the best counselor I can. It is especially important to me that as a clinician of color, I can work to bring awareness and help reduce the stigma associated with counseling and mental health.
I find my greatest strength is my ability to develop a therapeutic alliance with my clients. We may cry, but we will also laugh! Counseling is a collaborative process, with the client and therapist working together. I am not here to fix you; I genuinely believe healing starts with a choice and its yours to make.
